Much Ado About Nothing II

Delayed because of satellite issues

Thursday, January 22. Same as yesterday…

The voyage from Peru to Tahiti is about the longest stretch of sea days on the whole cruise: nine days at sea with one chance to get off, Easter Island. We will soon be hoping we had sea days as going ashore for endless port days as scurrying around can become a bit of a chore. After all we did come here to relax, right?

Today was a somewhat busy day with Tai Chi, a walk on the deck, two lectures in the morning, we had guests in for a visit after lunch, another lecture mid afternoon and the Cutler's and Moe came in for a wine before dinner. There was a female magician on for entertainment tonight so I took that in, she was hilarious and then to bed around 9.30 but the clocks go back another hour tonight. We are now on the same as BC time, or PST. Busy time for being on board today, 6000 steps and 69 flights of stairs according to my Fit Bit.

Tomorrow we have the Pitcairn crowd on around eight and then I hope to be able to squeeze in to a talk given by Jacqui Christian, of Mutiny of the Bounty fame. The dinner table conversation tonight was how do the islanders handle the in-breeding question with only 50 people on the island? After a couple of hundred years of marrying cousins it could be quite a dilemma I would imagine. Perhaps tomorrow will bring enlightenment.

After we sail around the island with some Pitcairnians on board tomorrow morning we depart at noon and have two more sea days before we hit the islands, [Tahiti first] and we get some south sea beach time in and some refreshing salt water swims and hopefully some as yet unforeseen adventures.

Terrible selection of pics today, sorry, not much exciting happening…

…..Doug and his hats, empty deck chairs early AM, endless wake, Fellette before dinner and Gail at Tai Chi. [She is in, shall we say 'The advanced Class']
