Bali Expectations...

The following is an outline of our intended day in Bali tomorrow. It is what we call 'A Crap Shoot' into whether we have a good day or not when we make independent travel arrangements ashore. This is not a ship's tour, but one that we arranged through a fellow French-Canadian lady who has been here and knew a Balinese gentleman who had contact with several drivers of tour vans.

I thought you may be interested to see what Moe, the Cutler's and Fellette and I are going to be 'experiencing' tomorrow. We will have to wait until the day after Bali to see how it turned out.

Dear Dough,

Thanks so much for contacting me as well as your trust to me to arrange your Bali trip in February 20th. Of course I am more than happy to serve you with our best. The trip that we arrange for Louise and friends is Ubud trip considering the limited time that we you have on the island. The following is the trip itinerary:

1. Monkey forest in Ubud. Here we will have fun with friendly monkeys around the tropical rain forest in Ubud area.

2. Batuan Hindu Temple. This is realy a beautiful 14th century Hindu Temple located in Batuan village. There are many things to learn here dealing with the Balinese art and religius life.

3. Batik Production Village. We will also take you to the center of Balinese traditional Batik handycraft and textyle as well as weaving. You can observe people at work and everything is a hand made.

4. There are other possible art villages that we may visit if time permits such the wood carving village, gold and silver village, painting village as well as rice fiends and countryside drive around Ubud area. If time is still availabe we still want to take you to the court of justice called Kerta Gosa with its floating paviilion and museum. But this is done only if time permits. We will play by ears for poit 4.

In one van, we have 6 person but if you have only 5 person will be fine. and I will offer you the prise of 6 person, that is US$ 30/person ( US$ 150 altogether ). This is just for you because you are Louise's friend. I hope you are happy with this. Please confirm your booking if you are ok and please send the names of participants going with you. On the arrival beach of Bali, your English speaking driver who also act as tour guide will have a sign with your name "ROBIN'S GROUP". Please look for the person holding this sign and please be on the same boat with all your friends going with you * the five participants ). The price above includes all donation and entrance tickets, mineral water, english speaking driver and airconditioned car. The price does not include meal and tips for the driver.

Well Dough, please let me hear your confirmation. I am very excited to meet you in Bali and take you around our beautiful island. Thanks again Dough, please send my best to all your friends.

Best Regards,
Komang

Hello Komang

My name is Doug Robins, we are on ms Amsterdam, arriving in Bali February 20.

Louise indicated that we could make use of your services that day with a van and English speaking driver.

We would like to engage one for that day, for five people only for U$ 180.

If this is correct can you please advise details.

Thank you Komang,

Doug Robins
