Alatau, New Guinea...

Wednesday, February 19. HOT, clear skies, docked.

Our day in pictures, Fantastic!!!

We are in an area, Milne Bay, which is exactly where the Japanese landed [1942], in their quest to invade Australia and were eventually stopped by the Australians, a terrible war went on here.

Pics: Most in villages that we visited; a bowl that I finally bought; people, and of course kids are kids; something left from the war; tobacco was a currency in days gone by but now is still sold the traditional way; the market; and lastly Jim, always a big grin sitting in a copra warehouse with the staff!
