Tuesday, May 2. White sky, light rain, bumpy seas. 15 C.
10 Days to home.
It is a Dreary Day at Sea. Yes, that stuff happens. The good news is that our colds are slowly loosing their obnoxious grip on us.
We received our papers and labels for shipping our luggage home this morning. There is a representative from the Firm Luggage Forward on board. We have an appointment to see him Saturday Afternoon at 3:45 PM.
The luggage issue is a huge challenge for the ship. Logistically and in particular on disembarkation day, which is also embarkation day. The ship comes into Fort Lauderdale around 6:30 Friday morning and sails out around 5:00 pm with an entirely new load of passengers, each with a few suitcases, depending upon the person and the length of the cruise. We who are getting off have maybe four or five per couple. We have five. That is a heck of a pile of suitcases for the 1500 passengers getting on and off. It is an exhausting day for the crew. Let alone the passengers, like us, who are eager to find their luggage and give it to the Luggage Man and then get to the airport to start the long journey home! Time to pay the Piper for all the lazy days we have had for the past four months!
Fellette and I are looking forward to going to go to dinner tonight in the dining room. We feel that we are no longer contagious even though we may not entirely look like it or sound like it. It was fun to be back.
