We were in Vienna by 10:30 this am, by coach. It was a very busy day today but at the end we were all happy with the results. There is still a lock problem so we are tied up in a rather remote area south of the Austrian border in Hungary. The busses are being used to transport us around. We should sail tomorrow and try to catch up to the agenda.
First was a city tour after which we had some time on our own before a visit to Schonbrunn Palace.
Back to ship by 6:00 and a briefing on the river situation, dinner, a stretch on deck and turned in for, hopefully, a good sleep and a lazy day tomorrow as the schedule gets sorted and hopefully we get under way. We are very tired.
Up again to the busses for a trip to Vienna, another long coach ride for those wanting to go.
The walk across two ships and up the ramp to our coaches.
This Christmas tree inspired us, at a pit stop on the way to Vienna.
The Vienna Opera House.
The back of Schonbrunn Palace in Vienna where we had a hasty visit.
Fellette and I were here in about 1987?
A Lipizann stallion, we passed by on our walking tour.
Just an absolutely beautiful arch in the city
My bride an a Hapsburger.
And me as well.
Gad, how is that for a garden folly?
In the guardhouse.
Lunch in the streets of Vienna, Australian beer!
This old Russian tank was lurking in the trees near our boat.
Left after the Russians left in the 1990's.
Back onto our ship after 7 hours away, our ship had moved closer to shore as others left.
