A bit of information about this trip, written after we came home...

September 5.

The schedule as shown for this trip was not what actually was what we experienced.

The second day after we joined the ship, a Romanian commercial ship rammed into the dyke adjacent to the first lock that we were going to encounter. As a result, the Slovakian officials shut the lock to undertake an inspection and fix the damaged dyke.

This took 51 hours, so for almost the entire trip we were playing catch up to try and get on schedule. As a result, we were taken to the various cities and town by coach which turned out to be a rather gruelling experience for many.

Also, there was a serious cough/cold going around the ship and unfortunately all three of us caught it!

All in all, it was a great journey and experience. Upon returning home we shortly received a letter from AmaWaterways giving us a rather substantial credit on a future trip with them. We hope to take advantage of that credit.

Written October 16 when ordering this book.
