Hi Folks, a heads up again.
Fellette and I once again are fortunate in being able to go on a cruise, in one week, this time to Hong Kong, I call it "Slow Boat to China" as it really is a long, slow way to get to Hong Kong. [Is that China or is it Hong Kong? The answer is both.]
The cruise has six stops in Alaska, two in Russia, seven in Japan, one in Taiwan and then two nights in Hong Kong. There are also four ports in Japan that we have two nights, including Tokyo where we have three nights.
The voyage itself takes 37 days to Hong Kong, then two nights on the ship and are then whisked home in 12 hours. [We are not lingering in Hong Kong as we have been there several times.]
We have never been to Japan, and curiously, it has never been on any wish-list of mine. Fellette wants to go there, so now you know why we are on the ship!

We leave on Wednesday August 14, from Beautiful Vancouver! Friends Dave and Alyssa are driving us down to Canada Place that morning.
The ship is Orion, of Viking Ocean Cruises. Viking is new to Ocean Cruising, their first year with ocean cruising was in 2015. They now have five ships of about 990 passengers. These size ships are now considered 'small ships'.
Orion was built in 2018, we have a small suite on deck six. [At this point I feel like sleeping the first 36 days, we have been very busy at home lately.] One big relief however is that we have a house-sitter so I can cross that off my worry-list.
I hope to do a Travel Blog whilst we are away. The Internet connection may be spotty up north so who knows what to expect en route.
I will be sending out an email prior to departure and may do some posting on this site before we depart to get used to the bare-bones computer I will take with me.
