Wednesday August 14. Sunny, lovely summer day.
Dave andAlyssa picked us up and whisked us to Canada Place Terminal where we most of our luggage was quickly taken while we were checked in and then there was a US cUstoms and Immigration procedure that was minimal at best, next thing we knew we were in our cabin and the time was about 11:20. Very slick.
We had a bite to eat around noon after which we explored the ship for a while. There were very few people on board this early so we had quite a while to sort things out and the luggage soon arrived and Fellette soon had everything tucked away nice and neat. That is the end of her tasks for 38 days!
My afternoon was spent with electronics, connections and a few things to take care of with travel insurance and a couple of other matters. As mentioned earlier both of us are a bit worn out and are looking forward to a bit of prolonged quiet time. We are certainly not in a party mood right now.
We had lifeboat drill and then we waited while a few other ships sailed away around 5:00.
Our little suite is more than adequate, very compact and well laid out with more than adequate storage space. We are very content.
Dinner was not in any formal arrangement for us tonight, we ate in the upstairs Buffett, the food was wonderful.
Regarding our fellow passengers, I would say that the average age is 'Very Old'. Although we are not any spring chickens! There seems to be a large amount of Australians on board for some reason. I would say more than half.
We had to get rid of our garbage from the last cruise so that took about 1 1/2 hours and then we sailed under the Lions Gate bridge at 8:43 as the sun was going down. Glorious. We took a few laps around the ship as we were waiting for the garbage barge to disconnect and then stumbled to our little home a way from home.
Good Day.
