So, somebody IS reading this thing...

Today's blog is an email that we received from Vivian, [one of my forgot-to-mentions!] Vivian was a school chum of our kids, particularly Craig and Jeanette. Vivian's family moved 'back' to Saskatchewan when she was about 18??? Vivian has kept in touch with our kids and stayed at the Farm this summer for two weeks during a high school reunion. It was only then did I discover that Vivian followed our travels via the blog. Vivian is married with children, they live on a very LARGE farm in a beautiful part of the Province, but the winters are cold.

Besides the farm and family, Vivian and her family run a museum/store, she writes for the local paper and will some day probably run in provincial politics.

This morning my blog was going to be on the Islands we will be visiting in the next week, but that can wait. This is too neat not to share.

It is 6.30 in the morning, the coffee has come, the balcony door is open, the ships bow wave is sloshing, the sky is blue and it is already 'plenty warm out'. I cannot even think of 90 kph winds at freezing temperatures.

Tomorrow will be a geography lesson Vivian, thanks for the note

Subject: hello from Saskatchewan

Good day Mr. & Mrs. Robins,
I am not that computer literate and could not get my email to go through your blog...so thought I would try this way...
Just a quick note before I start off on my day. Am glad you are enjoying your deserved holiday...I am enjoying your holiday too. Thanks for keeping a blog so we all can enjoy the world. Today we have a winter storm rolling in...winds up to 90 km/hr, temp dropping to -23C with high wind chill, and 20 cm of snow...looks like I will be staying home and writing IF the power does not go out.
We have four baby calves already, the last was born outside two nights ago when it was considerably warmer (-4C) the calf is a strong stubborn bull but the mother is a little short on brains...after she destroyed some panels and doors in the barn we have decided she will go to the butcher in the fall...her hamburger will be the one with the 'kick back' ! LOL
Thanks again for sharing your adventure...I take the opportunity to teach Wes geography.
Have a good day!
Vivian
