Greenland... not too sure what we expected

Once in a while, I allow the pictures to tell the story, without too much comment from me.. Today was such a day. There were no tours, just a walkabout in a Northern Town.

You could have been in northern Canada or Alaska. Except...it was like we were invisible. The residents were not bothered nor intimidated by us curious folk. The people are so innocent and unassuming it was surreal. There were no tourist stalls, it was even hard to find a postcard. Nobody trying to sell you something, it was fantastic.

To top it off, as we were waiting in line for the tender to come back on board, a native man came along and handed out pictures of our ship taken in their harbour earlier in the day, 5 x 7, lovely shot, laminated. He just gave them to us as we unbelievingly took it and then he walked back to his Toyota pick-up and drove off. I met his eyes and gave him a thankful wave as he drove off, no words necessary. Just because, wow!

During dinner tonight as we sailed down the coast, we were treated to an unbelievable array of gigantic and very dignified icebergs drifting down south to the north Atlantic.

Enough of me. Enjoy our day.
