Home again...

Monday, January 4.

We were up a little earlier than usual today, shaved, showered, changed the linen in our room, etc. Jim and Gail, cooked a lovely breakfast of bacon and blitnzes, so much so that we did not eat again until home at 5:00 PM. We did buy some nuts and berries to nibble on while flying though. The trip on the plane is only 1 1/2 hours. The drive home was a piece of cake as well: shuttle bus was at the curb when we arrived and he drove us right to our car. I drove all the way and it was the slickest trip ever through Seattle. We were at the border for 5 seconds, all we bought while away was a gallon of milk when we filled up in Bellingham.

We picked up a bite to eat close to home so there was no cooking and we got down to adjusting to being home again. I think we will unpack in the morning as it has been a long day. Super time with good friends.

You may or may not know that on New Year's eve I received and email from the neighbour stating that there was water running down the driveway at the foot of our property line. Jeanette and Robert, and the neighbour, assessed it as an irrigation line malfunction. The irrigation man came New Year's Eve  and shut the water off. He came the next day and identified the problem in daylight. On Sunday he acquired the part and on Monday he installed it.

The water was coming from a pipe coming off the main water supply line, installed at the time of development. Nothing to do with irrigation at all. We surmise that the pipe was damaged by the earthquake and with a couple of days of pressure it just gave out.

This is the end of this travel adventure. See you some other time maybe.

Above the white pipe that ruptured you can see a rusty metal box.
That is where the pipe was located.

On this date in 2008. The beginning of a World Cruise that we experienced with Jim and Gail. Hard to believe it was eight years ago.
This is compliments of Google Photos.
