Turkey for dinner!...

Sunday, January 3. A bit warmer, no frost today.

Easy day today. Breakfast, a bit of chat, a walk, home and put the turkey breast in and wait for the guests to arrive. Jim and Gail had invited Gail's son, Greg and wife Sherrie for a noon Sunday dinner.

They arrived at 11:15 and once again we had an enjoyable time discussing a variety of things. We had met them earlier in Maui once briefly when we six had dinner together. They are entering an interesting time in their lives. Greg is moving up this way sometime soon, in the same community as Jim and Gail.

Greg works for an industrial painting firm and has done so for 13 years. His prime role is an estimator. Now the jobs he estimates on are really really really big jobs. Like a water treatment plant, a refinery, a dam, etc., etc. He is hoping to work from home as he makes the transition from full time work to eventually retirement. Sherrie woks as a substitute teacher and will be able to find work here if she so desires.

It is interesting to see the mobility of folks here. I suppose that in our personal life there seems to be more attachment to an area for some reason.

This is our last night here and it has been wonderful. The Cutlers are gracious hosts and we like to think that we are low maintenance guests. However, I know that having guests in one's house is trying, no matter how much the guests may think they are no problem.  Thank you Jim and Gail!

Back to reality tomorrow as we are dropped off at the airport. The day is a travel day and will be full of annoying inconveniences we know. Tuesday will be catchup and sorting-out day and the next day, Wednesday, is busy: the housekeeper comes at 1:00, I have an appointment with Dr. Dread at 1:45
and Fellette has the first choir practice at night.

This doctors appointment has been playing very heavy on my mind and I will be glad to have it over with regardless of the results of the biopsy. Onwards and upwards is the hoped for reaction to whatever Dr. Dread says.

The kitchen staff!

The usual suspects and Sherrie and Greg.
