Monday, March 17. Nicely warm, blue sky and calm seas.

This is the second of four sea days before we hit the Seychelles near Africa. This is a good time to rest, read and just appreciate the quiet time here. There is lots to keep one busy but right now other than a few lectures to attend I am enjoying it, thank you.

Today is St. Patrick's Day and the Americans seem to make a big deal of that day, almost to the point of nausea.

Fellette today finished her baby blanket and handed it in, Gail is working on hers and is almost complete. The project that takes care of the blankets and other knitted products is called 'The Linus Project' of Snoopy fame, they are distributed to needy mothers and newborns.

Today was a quiet day, no fires, no pirates and no missing plane debris, thankfully.

Our clocks are going ahead another hour tonight so we are now just about Moscow time or around 11 hours ahead of West Coast Time, we are slowly catching up to North America East Coast Time which we will be on when we hit Florida.

Nautical terms in everyday usage.

Gone by the board: Anything seen to have gone overboard or spotted floating past the ship [by the board] was considered lost at sea.

- Inspirational signs on a stateroom door near us. It changes every few days.

- Doug donned his as well, reluctantly.
- Our American table mate really got into it tonight.
