Extra blog...

Wednesday, April 23.

The FEDEX people come on board today, so we will start finding out the ugly details about luggage shipment home. For your information, we get unlimited free luggage shipment from home to ship and ship to home. We have about five pieces to pack up and get home with FEDEX. We will carry as little as possible with us on the plane but need to have any purchases with us when we go through Canada Customs in Vancouver on Monday. It makes the packing a challenge but Fellette is up to it, it is one of her many areas of expertise. I am not allowed to pack anything except my toiletries case.

I received a very nice email the other day from a person I have never met, who is following the blog. They were very complimentary [which is always nice to hear], and commented on my writings on thoughts or psychological matters that I sometimes drift into. Also the commitment to the blog. I am a bit surprised that people are still reading the darn thing, my gosh some people must have said, "Holy cow, are they still on that darn ship?"

The writing of the blog is not such a bother to me as it was at one time. However, I cannot go to bed at night unless I have penned something, not matter how trite. Sometimes I sit down to write the blog and have no idea what to write about, other times I have been accumulating thoughts and photos all day with the blog in mind.

One thing that you may or may not be aware of is that I am baring my soul and heart through the blog, sometimes to strangers. That is a dangerous thing to do, as no two people think alike and have not experienced life the same as anyone else in the world. I appreciate the silence from readers who may disagree and/or do not understand my sometimes biased and odd thoughts. Somehow, I get a bit of therapy by writing and expressing my thoughts through the blog. And there have been many times that I have written it, gone off on a tangent, and scrapped the whole thing.

The toughest time for me was when we were on Safari in South Africa. There was so much going on those five days and so much to take in and very little free time. My free time was spent composing and sending the blog. It did reduce my enjoyment somewhat but that's the way it is.

There have also been some very quiet stretches on this trip, and in some cases I had the basics of the blog done before I had my third cup of tea in the morning and was still in my PJ's! As you may know, possibly, I have to accomplish something constructive every single day. It is in my DNA! And writing the blog is sometimes the only constructive thing that I do in a day!

Thank you for your email, it made my day!
