Our Somewhat Busy Day...

Day 105 of 113. [9 more sleeps].

Clocks go back again tonight, now we are now only four hours ahead of West Coast time.

Another quiet day at sea.

Last night we had about the nicest dinner of the whole cruise with Jim and Gail, Just us four, great conversation, believe it or not after 104 days of being together.

When we came back from the dinner, our cabin was made up for bed as usual, on the bed were two Teddy Bears on our pillows. These gifts from the Ship are called Pillow Gifts, and they run from the bigger gifts like small luggage bags, collector plates from Holland to little things like quality pens, etc.

When I saw the Teddy Bears I thought, 'Cute, but who needs a Teddy Bear?" Upon closer examination, this is the Teddy Bear that I have been looking for, for over 50 years, since our first child, [Jeanette] was born! When I was  little kid, I guess from age three to about six or seven, I had this Teddy Bear that I cherished dearly. However, like all kid-things, it disappeared a long time ago. When Fellette was pregnant with Jeanette I looked everywhere to buy a Teddy Bear for Jeanette like the one I had so many years ago. To this day, every time we are in a store and there are Teddy Bears, I pause and look, but to no avail to date.

This morning I looked through the over 35,667 pictures I have in my trusty Mac on board, and sure enough, there he was, my Teddy, but somewhat different in colour than I remember. The picture was taken with my sister Moe, about 1939, around the start of WW II, gad, am I that old?

Today we took in a couple of lectures then the Filipino Crew Show at 3.00 and around 4.30 we had our dining room table mates in for canapés and drinks. Good times with them the last three months and it was about the best table we have had for many years.

We have another two days at sea before we hit Barbados, time is heavy on our hands right now, eager to 'Get on with it'.

What we are looking forward to when we get home

- Seeing the kids, grandkids and my siblings.

- High-speed internet at 5,000,000,000 bps!

- Putting the vegetable garden in and watching things grow.

- Going to Canada Ticket and smelling the ink, paper and seeing the staff.

- Catching up at Canada Ticket.

- A quiet dinner out with Fellette at our favourite Greek restaurant.

- Seeing some special friends again.

- Catching up on mail.

- Getting the newspaper at 5.30 am and bringing it, and coffee, to Fellette in bed.

- Driving my super-clean car.

- Cutting the grass with my lawn tractor.

- Getting out in the work shop and doing some carpentry.

- After-lunch quiet time.

- Going grocery shopping and getting all our favourite, healthy foods.

- Having 100% control on what we eat.

- Eat when we want to, and only the two of us.

- Greeting our dog and rubbing her long soft ears, even though Sheba has been gone for over 20 years. [That's how much I miss her when coming home.]
