Yesterday, Tuesday the 14th was a relatively easy day for us. An early rise, [4:00 am!] We spent a couple of hours in bed coming awake, watching the weather, reading the newspaper and enjoying coffee.
I was first up and dressed and outside to do my chores with the neighbours cattle for the last time around 7:00. We left for the airport around 9:30 and were in the lounge at 11:30 where we had a light lunch and relaxed. After that we were on our way, checked in, through security and in the lounge.
Before we knew it we were in our seats, a welcome glass of bubbly and then they served us dinner, at 2:00 PM. After that I flattened out my seat and hunkered down for an afternoon nap that took me into 4:00 AM Wednesday, Frankfurt time. I then watched a movie. Fellette had watched TV, read and played with her iPad all night long.
Breakfast came and we were in the airport lounge where we lingered for four hours before catching the Moscow-bound plane around 1:30, [delayed]. Three hours later we were in Moscow Airport.
My worst nightmare did not happen. We were amongst the first off the plane and soon we were standing in front of a Woman Russian Immigration officer. Stern looking but not overly. After examining my passport and visa with a magnifying glass we were stamped and good to go!
Off to luggage and by the time I got a buggy Fellette had fetched our bags. We walked through the Green Door at customs where I smiled and said hello to two more Russian women.
Or greeter was there within minutes and he wheeled our buggy through a maze of taxis, cars, parking lots and buildings and we were off again. 45 minutes from landing to on the way to the hotel. That is better than Vancouver!
The Flight to Frankfurt was nine hours. 8000 Ks.
The Flight to Moscow was three hours. 2012 Ks.
The shuttle from the Moscow airport to our hotel one and one half hours. 60Ks.
Don't you ever complain about congested traffic again.
We are drained from travelling and went to bed almost as soon as we got sorted out in the hotel room.
Sorry, no decent pics today. Tomorrow we will go for a walk, guaranteed. Although we did have torrential rain and lightening on our shuttle ride to the hotel this evening.
Fellette in her nest prior to taking off in Vancouver with a glass of bubbly.
There you have a Russian picture! That is what a Russian cloud looks like!
Good night folks!
