On The Bounding Main...

Tuesday, January 6. Clear, still only 16 C.

Lots has happened since yesterday. We visited the Ship's Medical Department yesterday afternoon to see if we could get some relief from the pain that Fellette has 24/7 from the chest injury on New Year's Day. Fellette had her chest X-rayed right then. The doctor told us that Fellette has a cracked right rib. [Prior to this, through a mix up or whatever, we thought that she had a fractured femur, breastbone, from the seat belt when we were broadsided.]

The doctor said that there was no leakage of fluids into the lung that is often the side effect of a cracked or broken rib. There is no treatment, the rib will heal, slowly! The only issue is PAIN! We have an appointment with the doctor tomorrow morning.

So much for that. Now, today: Nothing to talk about other than the weather. 16 C has been constant since we left San Diego, the sea was a bit of a mixed bag today, some rolling and some pitching. It is a bit of a challenge to walk a straight line for sure. However, most of us aboard are a bit wobbly under normal circumstances anyhow!

A Bit Better Day Today.

The examination room yesterday.

My bride, sleeping in the most comfortable position she can, on the couch.

Breakfast: Oatmeal, still in modest pain in spite of pain pills but soldiering on.

Munching on a delicious Hot Dog for lunch.

Sailing into the sunset. Hawaii is two hours behind West Coast time, I suspect we may set our clocks back one hour tonight.

  1. Wishing Fellette a pain free holiday. Its a good time to not have to worry about cooking and housework. The doctor couldn't have ordered a better recovery scenario. Best wishes from the Halls
