What a Difference a Day Makes...

Friday, January 9. Overcast. 23 C.

We had dinner at The Pinnacle Restaurant last night so we dressed up, a bit. Felt good. There was a mental burden taken of of us by the doctor yesterday that certainly was responsible for the sleep. We had a time change last night, again, that mixed us up because the big wall clock in our room, visible from everywhere in the room does not show the 'changed time' because the Captain changes the time for the convenience of the passengers, but somehow they cannot change all the thousands of clocks on the ship for some mysterious reason.

The weather is warming considerably and people are taking in the rays, nice to see that as well. We actually got out of the cabin this morning and started to explore a bit. For the first time we got a better sampling of the passengers aboard. Wow. We are not the oldest, [Fellette is 84 and I am 90], or oldest looking by any means. There are many older-looking people but, who can tell? I am impressed by how those older people, some with disabilities are still getting out and around and enjoying life to their fullest. Why not, if you can afford it!

I do feel a bit sad for the younger crowd that is on this ship. Some of the older folks [men] do look a bit taddy, especially the older men who now sport beards like that are getting ready to play Santa Claus, while sporting their favourite old tee-shirt and shorts! You can have a handsome beard and still look sharp. We have a close relative who does just that!

It is only now, six days into the voyage, and are free from medical involvements and even the possibility of flying home tomorrow to take care of Fellette's issue. I still cannot fully comprehend or believe that this is our home for the next 12 weeks! It will take some time to sink in.

We heard from ICBC, [our Vehicle Insurance People] today. At this point our Toyota Truck is a write-off. The only good thing about this is that we are both alive or not seriously injured.

Our day  was still very low key in the room, we are both very, very tired, but happy!

Last night at dinner. Ooops, I should have removed that wine glass that appears to be bigger than Fellette's head!

Coffee on the balcony early this morning. Beautiful!
