We four were away at 9:00 on the free shuttle to Mira Flores Mall which is an upscale shopping are about 1/2 hour bus ride. Then a 20 minute walk to a place called the Indian Market which is not really that but rather a collection of nice little kiosks and shops. The merchants are very polite but quite attentive to you and watch where your eyes go. Their English is better than my Spanish but that does not mean we have good communications with them.
Prices are very, very reasonable and there is no attempt to cheat, quite to the contrary, they will sometimes charge less than their original asking price, or was that my misinterpretation of the first price? Likely that.
There was a few modest purchases and then back to the beach area where a sea fog obscures the tops of modestly high hotels that are along the beach boulevard area.
The we went to the lower level of the beach front area and had a very nice lunch in an upscalish restaurant where the bill came to $33.00, with two beer and a soft drink. Next was an ice cream bar from a street vendor. We then walked off the lunch, (faint hope) by getting our steps for the day to 10,000.
Back on the shuttle to the ship and a quick visit to the vendors where the Cutler's and Robin's helped the Peruvian economy some more.
We soon went to the lounge to have a latte where the ships communication officer helped get Fellette's iPad working again. After. A display of manly hugging we went and got dressed for dinner. (Like we need to eat yet again?)
Fellette admiring her running shoe purchase. $15.00.
Just like in Spain. Beautiful, clean and safe
Nice to see some flowers and gardens.
This sea fog is very soothing but a bit eerie.
I hope grandson Nathan likes his Snow Boarding mask!
A shot from our balcony of the Cutler's making a big shopping decision.
