Wednesday, January 11. Blue sky, a 'Following Sea’, a nice motion on the ship as a result. 25 C.
I don’t remember starting off on a cruise like this and being in limbo so soon after we sailed regarding ‘No Internet Connection right now” Maybe it is in my fading memory. It is because, I confess, that I am addicted to my cell phone and high speed connection at home.
Well, we are settling into this life, decadent, and at times, boring as it is. If truth be told I do not mind at all the peace and quiet that you can get by just spoiling yourself and do what you want to, even if it is just to sit on your balcony with a good book and nod off or doze. As long as you are in your comfort zone regarding getting enough exercise, fresh air, a good diet and not over indulging in alcohol. [I just hope I can remember that!]
Today was just a repeat of yesterday, but things are a bit more settled in my head now. The longest number of consecutive sea days we have ever had is also eight, but not at the beginning of a cruise. When we get into the later part of this trip in Europe, in April, it is the opposite, we only have five sea days. That means 25 port days in 30 days Of course we can dictate which days we want to go for a nice walk, weather permitting, and which days we want to go on an organized tour, which we are not too fond of.
Of passing interest to you may be the fact that Dozy Doug failed to pack any socks. Which I did not know until we got onboard. So I have only one pair of socks for 128 days, that won’t work. We have not been able to buy any, friend Jim lent me a pair so my inventory and selection double. Daughter Jeanette went and raided my sock drawer and packaged up a nice selection and gave them to son Wally who is shipping them to the Ship’s Agent in New Zealand! So on Thursday, February 2, I should have socks aplenty.
A Good Day Here...
