Chugging Along Nicely...

Wednesday, January 7. Smooth Seas. 18 C.

We are now over 1/2 way to Honolulu and the sea has settled down considerably, so much so that the deck may soon be too hot to sit outside in the sun. [Pity us!]

Fellette's condition, which is my main concern, seems to have settled  down a bit. I think it is the fact that she has learned to live with a constant pain and a very slight improvement in the healing process. Our morning trip to the MIR, [Medical Inspection Room] turned into a phone conversation with a nurse. She advised that X-Ray taken by the Ship's Doctor on Monday was sent to the US for examination and they hope to have the results tomorrow morning, when they will call us.

I understand and have come to this conclusion: The ship's Medical Facility can take care of most and many problems without any issue at all. However, in Fellette's case a misdiagnosis by the shop's doctor of the X-ray he took of Fellette's chest the other day, could lead to life threatening and ongoing complications. I am almost positive that Holland America, based in Seattle, have very qualified people that are backing up their doctors on their ships floating all over the world.

Wally, at home, is lining up a possible visit to an Imaging Facility in Honolulu so that in the event that the Stateside Holland America doctors says to get a CT Scan on Saturday, we are all set to spend Saturday doing just that.

This stuff is not what you were expecting to read by looking in to see our Blog, nor was I expecting to be writing this daily stuff, sorry, maybe it can turn into a daily drama on the high seas! Turn in tomorrow for the next adventure of  'Drama In The South Pacific!'

We did adventure into the Dining Room for lunch today, we sat with a lady from Oregon/Arizona. She was an interesting woman to talk to. I have spoken to some other passengers who all seem to be easy  to talk to.

Also of possible interest is that I have found out that the ship is far below it's capacity of around 1200 passengers with a crew of 600. I wondered where all the people were, but apparently the ship is at normal capacity. Nice to know, even though it is a relatively small ship, it never seems crowded. We ventured tonight down to the Dining Room tonight, we will take a table for two in case my cough or Fellette has discomfort, which I doubt. Maybe we are slowly getting better!!!

Also, of great importance to me is the fact that I finally have found a proper place to set up my computer this afternoon. Hurrah! It is in the dressing room table in the closet by the bathroom. I suppose you could say that I am now a Closet Writer!

A Decent Day, All In All.

This is Desiree, our person in the Neptune Suite Lounge that can do anything that needs to be done at the Main Desk, only faster, she has a partner as well. It is like having a personal assistant who can help with virtually everything. Phillipino, as her male assistant is, best we have ever had in the Neptune.

We ventured into the Dining Room for lunch today, virtually empty.

In my Happy Place!
