Monday, January 12. Sunny 25. C.
The patient is coming along, very slowly. The weather is typical Hawaii weather: Nice. Today we are a short distance off the Island of Kona with the lifeboats Tendering those going ashore. Once again Fellette does not want to risk the chance of setting herself back regarding the injury so we spent yet another day on this ship that has turned into a Convalescent Ship, for us at least.
In the afternoon Fellette took in a movie at the Wajang Theatre they have. It allowed her to get away from me and also gave me a time to not have to be concerned about her. I never realized that until she left the room and I just felt a weight off my shoulder. I then fell asleep for a solid hour. It was always our intention to come on this cruise to 'relax', which we cannot seem to do unless we are on a ship or in Maui. It is too easy to just keep 'doing things' when at home.
We are looking forward to tomorrow and Maui, Kahului to be exact. We need to stock up on pain killers for Fellette and it will be nice to see our niece and her husband, if even for a few hours. We have been coming to Kihei, Maui, for 36 years, starting with Timeshares and ending up with a full time condo, which is now in the hands of one of our sons.
After we leave Maui tomorrow we have another five days at sea before we hit American Samoa, crossing the equator along the way. We are now almost 10% of the way into this darn cruise and all we have done is Zip! [Convalescing is not an easy thing to do.]
Methinks we may have turned the corner today!
Finally, a Good Day.
Maybe travelling on water is a good thing for Fellette - and you, Doug, - if you were still at home she, and you, would feel bad that she cannot work.
ReplyDeleteI, kind of, know what a 'bruised' rib fells like - I was gardening in my bushes and a spider ran up my shovel and I threw it away and fell on a bolder. I didn't need the help Fellette needs but it took a long time to heal. Just Advil.
Also can I ask if American Samoa was always called that or did someone add to the name????
Your pictures of, both of you, make me happy
It's just getting to be like your usual travelling.
