Yesterday was a very long, wet and gruelling day for us and as a result of which we both slept well, although we still rose a bit early. We met up with Jim and Gail having breakfast and came up with a plan to walk off and have a short walk about in downtown Buenos Aires.
We were soon in the city, which is huge and spread out, home to 14,000,000 of the 42,000,000 Argentinians. Doug made the only purchase today: a pair of dress boots that he has been looking for for a couple of decades actually. The price was a bit high but less than half the price at home, if I can find a pair not made in China at home.
We had a bite to eat and sauntered back to the ship. We have another walk-off day tomorrow before two sea days as we head up to Brazil and Rio de Janeiro.
Life boat drill today for all including the passengers joining the ship here. We lost 95 people and only 36 got on so we are down a bit, it will be noticeable as it amounts to a bit less than 10% of the passengers aboard. This was the only 'Leg' of this cruise.
At the end of the day I can truly say it was day of rest and recuperation. Tomorrow we are in Uruguay again before heading nothing to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil after two days at sea. Heading into very warm weather again.
Sailing into Buenos Aires two mornings ago.
Shuttle drop off spot this morning. There is nothing here that we need to see, it is just another very big city, but we decided to spend a few hours there just to remind us that we don't need to see it! I
An old-timers 'Selfie'.
Affluent part of town obviously.
Gawkers.
The bench is concrete! Cool eh?
Happy day for Doug.
Lifeboat drill, just before we sailed. Here we are on deck after an electronic roll call.
