There is no way for me to post a meaningful blog covering all the events and post pictures as well. It is physically impossible to do with the available time and get a reasonable sleep. So here it is as it is!
We left Tangiers this morning around 9:30 and started the very scenic drive east, along the top of Africa heading towards Cairo for those of you stuck with simple geography in your head, like me. Cairo is a million miles away but you get the idea I hope. At some point three hours later we hit the town of Ceuta, which is still Spanish so we bypassed that and headed down south to the city of Tetouan where we strolled for a while.
Then we headed inland to the city of Chefchaouen where we were walked to a very modern completely renovated hotel. Lovely. But tight as hell with a set of staircases that could easily end the holiday with a single miss-step.
We had 3/4 of an hour 'leisure time' and then started on an 80 minute walk through the Medina which is called the Blue City. The photos will show you why it is called blue, the reason it is called blue depends upon who you ask.
We went back to the hotel for an hour before we went out for a simple spaghetti dinner inasmuch as we all had a hearty and delightful lunch. Time is running out so I will close and start picking pictures for you.
In the city of Teuton, which again is unrecognizable to me when I was here 60 years ago.
Heavy duty strolling in this city. See Fellette right, Jim and Gail hiking up in middle. A bit of a grind.
Leather goods abound here.
The view where we stopped for lunch.
Now in The Blue City.
We must get some slippers!
If Fellette would only loosen up!
Too blue for the camera to take in.
Us.
Happy French girls having an orange juice, squeezed on the spot.
The oranges, not the girls!
A ghost walking behind Fellette, left, Gail right.
Dinner anyone?
Street scene.
'Our home for the night!'
The street scene below at dinner.
Us two at dinner.
