Today we are still in port until 6:00 this evening when we sail for India, two sea days hence. We had a great sleep and a slow lazy rise. Breakfast with the Cutlers, then I wandered about enjoying and appreciating the alone time. Fellette swam and I eventually caught up with her, read for a bit and then to our cabin for more unwinding after two fantastic and very exciting and long days.
We caught up with Jim and Gail after lifeboat drill and aided in getting rid of that nasty Champagne bottle that keeps appearing in our staterooms every two weeks. Those three went to the show tonight, I continued with my R & R!

The last few days have been a blur and I really cannot remember which of the many half decent pictures I have shared with you, so forgive me please for any repeats!
Sri Lanka Health officials coming on board early upon arrival. They are worried of course about 500 people coming into their country having visited many ports in the last month that have confirmed cases of Corona Virus. Whereas we may be concerned about getting it here!
Gail getting a temperature check as we walked off.
Shopping opportunity at the wharf.
A Buddha Pagoda or Stupa.
Buddha monk statues.
Elephant statues galore.
Next door.
My favourite.
Group picture, just after Jim got patched up.
Buddha Temple where reputedly is one of the the two temples in the world housing a tooth from the remains of Buddhas cremated ashes.
Ceiling on a temple in the mountains that I did not go into,
Fellette took this shot.
She took this for me! Love it.
This is an illuminated tower near the horbour. It was near impossible to get this picture from the moving car last night after being up and on the go for nearing 14 hours.
The Queen Mary 2 in harbour a few days ago. We met some of them on
Elephant-Washing day.
A rather bewildered looking Doug, Jim was getting bandaged at this time with Gail and Fellette and I did not know where they were. I was looking for them next thing I knew I was standing in front of this bloody elephant.
Yup, they make toilet tissue out of the droppings. I am not joking!
It is still Ceylon here in many respects.
Genuine Ceylon Tea.
Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder.
Making onion rings. We ate just about anything as long as it was cooked, fried, boiled or roasted. Fellette and I do not eat raw vegetables when off-ship. It is easy enough to get Dehli-Belly without tempting fate.

Taken this morning after breakfast.
We had a brief shopping trip at the wharf to pick up a few little things.
Back we go to the tranquility of the ship to complete a very restful day!
Love being on the journey with you Doug. Love the photos and the excellent commentary. Cheers, Rod
