A Riad is a middle or upper class home in a residential area in an Arab city, usually in the older section. Outside the large front door is the bustling streets with cafes, shops and the streets full of ordinary folks doing their thing. As usual there are many men sitting doing what men do while the women are scurrying about, often with their children, shopping. The atmosphere is very hard to describe, but fascinating.
This Riad was an abandoned bank until 2015 when it was renovated into this beautiful quaint hotel.
I am dashing this off before our guide comes and starts the tour this morning. We are here for another night. I hope I can find time and energy to do a blog for the day, later.
Pictures of the hotel, taken before 9:30 AM...
A staff member explaining breakfast to Fellette. Most folks sleep in later than Fellette and I do.
This leads to the street.
Two above photos are breakfast.
