Keep Calm and Carry on...

Yours truly, ready for a snowy England later today.

"Keep Calm and Carry on"

That was a common term used by the British during the war apparently.

Yesterday was a total Zoo Day for us. We were supposed to fly out at 8.45 PM for London last night. At 11.00 AM I received an email saying 'Your flight has been cancelled" Period, that was it.

We have a three day fudge factor before the ship sails and that was reassuring. All day I tried to contact the airline and find out what was happening, to no avail, it was a little annoying but I knew it would work out and I was able to get to the build site one more time.

So, we got into our own beds last night, uncertain of when and how we would be getting to England.

At 2.00 AM this morning I figured that it was time to get this thing straightened out. The airline website had us rescheduled for a flight today on a different Airline. No worries there from us, at least we are getting there. So, at 3.00 AM we are on our second cup of coffee and printing out boarding passes and filling in forms online.

It would appear that we now have two days at a hotel in Southampton with our good friends who are making there own way down there. The roads are very very bad in southern England and we thought that we would get any worries out of the way, sooner than later.

And so, our lucky wives get to live in luxury two days earlier than expected. We kept calm and carried on and it worked out fine. All is well that ends well.

  1. Hi Mate. Sorry about your delay problems. Just to make you feel better, it is going to be 36 here tomorrow, followed by another 3 days in the 30's. Keep cool!!!
    Love, Keith.
