Thursday January 16. Hot as heck outside.
Well, we finally get a chance for our brain to catch up with our body, or visa versa, not sure which.
Sea days are not to everyone's liking, we like them in moderation. Right now, I really appreciate them as it is a sort of enforced relaxation. There are some lectures and activities going on that we want to see or do.
Fellette has joined the Ship's Choir and they have practices every sea day so this is right up her alley! I have some lectures to attend and a good book that I need to get into. So we are both looking forward to these three days. We took our first deck walk after breakfast today which felt great.
We will not attempt to keep pace with Jim and Gail in their routine of getting at least 10,000 steps in every day.
It seems that we are programmed to be early morning risers. To us, getting up at 6:00 AM is sleeping in! As a consequence we need to be in bed around 9:00 PM or I/we run into issues. We will have to work that out. It sort of creates a conflict because the evening entertainment usually starts at 8:45. Such a problem to have!
My biggest problem bow is to try and have some interesting photos to show you but there are none to be had. It is absolutely decadent to have three days of perfect tranquillity and to be able to squirrel yourself up with a good book after a meal and a walk around the deck. Fantastic!
Speaking of eating: it does require some will power not to overeat or eat the wrong things. I think that few and far between do such. I see the same folks eating huge Full English Breakfasts of egg, bacon, sausage, beans and Lord knows what else, every day. I must say that our partners Jim and Gail eat what I consider healthy.
Tomorrow we come very close to the equator, right now we are about one degree South of it and just bump north of it for a brief while as we sail over the head of the 'Lizard-shaped island' that is New Guinea.
At home we are keeping up to date on the snow that is causing so many problems and so much fun for people.

An intimate little Card Room.
The Card Room is stocked with good old fashioned Board Games.
And for decor in the Card Room, the plaques that have been presented to the ship over many, many years. British, Naval and some other ships often do this.
Once in a while a few people may try their hand at Blackjack etc., rarely though.
Yes, they have flowers that you can purchase, I think, and suites have flowers in their room. We have a bit of greenery in ours.
You can follow the ship by these maps printed showing our position every four hours ahead.
The pool area at 'The Farm' where our daughter and family lives, previously our Family Home.
The carport, ploughed out by a neighbour.
Two of our grand daughters and friend. Alicia, Adrienne and friend. All young ladies but still kids at heart! Who wouldn't want to get out in that snow! Chicken house behind, barn on right with wood that supplements the hot water heat in the home. [This is not our usual winter by the way, this is Global Warming.] ???
