Friday January 17. Great day to be sailing. 30 C.
We are sailing westbound along the Equator and will be for a few hours yet.
There is very little of interest to show on the blog but it sure is nice to have a bit of a respite from the last three ports that believe it or not are quite strenuous on us. The hustle-bustle of being ashore both morning and afternoon in this heat is very hard on these bodies of ours. Hard work is one thing but being outside and on foot for hours in this heat is not conducive to good health. Seriously! Using the colour of my urine as an indicator I should be dead, not just dehydrated! [Sorry for that but it is true, drinking water is critical in such circumstances.] This fact was drawn to our attention this morning when attending a lecture on nutrition.
We are only now getting our daily routine in order. It is difficult to find time to relax and read, which is what is supposed to happen on such a cruise. However we seem to be concerned that we may miss something if we happen to sit and read instead of attending a lecture or demonstration or something. I find it strange that we still do not seem to understand that the Daily Programme is a guide to what is 'available', not a 'must do list!'
Later today we take in another lecture and then before dinner a ceremony of Crossing the Equator will take place. Again, I am sending this so it arrives when you West Coasters are still awake. We are still six hours behind you on the clock, but tomorrow!

Gail getting in her steps this AM.
Jim as well. Walking every day is part of their regime.
Fellette too.
Fellette trying to spot the Equator after lunch. It eluded us again!
