Somewhat Laid Back...

Monday January 20. I have no idea of the temperature, but warm.

Last night was the sleep of the dead for me. Nine hours, then a cup of coffee on our balcony before dawn to try and wake up, no luck so I dozed for another hour. I attribute it to the heat yesterday. Fellette was not so much affected.

We eventually made it to breakfast where they served champagne as it is the end of one leg of the cruise coming up.A few hundred get off in Bali in a day or so, and the same amount will likely get on. We are in Bali for three days and we [mainly Jim], has arranged a couple of trips for us while there, on our own. We are really not exactly sure what we are doing due to some variables in communication. However, we are confident that it will work our somehow, it usually does!

It seems that after a lumpy start to the voyage I have settled down and actually have become maybe too complacent about things: I just feel so relaxed that I don't really care what happens because it will all be super compared to many alternatives.

This is written before noon to get it off while west coasters are still up. After lunch Jim and I are going to the spa to have a sauna, Jim thinks it will be good for my nagging pain in the shoulders and arms. Later this afternoon Fellette has a last Choir Rehearsal before the actual performance a couple of hours later.

Tonight is a Formal Night, a chance for us to get dressed up in our fancy duds.

I have discovered Face-Time through the computer which is nice, we have spoken to Wally and Craig, we will try Jeanette next. It is lovely to see them in person, we don't feel quite so isolated.

Tomorrow we are in Komodo, Indonesia where the frightening Komodo Dragons live: what nightmares are made of.

This trip is quite a bit different than any other we have been on, I am trying to figure out why, here are some possibilities: British passengers [generally quieter than Holland America]; small ship; much, much older ship; the crew is quite noticeable by their absence of being in your face; smaller portions of food; absence of ship's photographer and a few other seeming insignificant items. Others may disagree, maybe it is my present state of mind.

We will set our clocks back another hour tonight.

Tomorrow 'There be Dragons!'

Fellette whiling away the day.
