Saturday January 4. Sun, then rain, then sun.
The hardest part of our trip often is 'Getting out of the house!'
All the packing, concerns, goodbyes, arrangements worries and jitters are now behind us. If we have forgotten something, it is history.
It was a very long day for us, starting with a microwave that would not heat my morning latte. Last night's 20 second power outage was to blame. Google fixed that. Our three motion detector security lights were stuck on the 'on' position. Google did not help but shutting the circuits on and off twice fixed that.
Fellette wanted to put some black plastic down to kill the grass in the new blueberry patch. This we did. I wanted to clean out a gutter that was plugged on a corner of the house. Dangerous work on a ladder over a rockery nine hours before your vacation methinks. I steadied the ladder and a more sure-footed much younger wife did the deed.
I wanted to get the car cleaned before we left so off I went for that, but the power outage stymied that: the gate would not open. Undaunted I opened it with two keys and off I went. I got the car cleaned and drove to CTI to see what Wally was doing.
After that, to home. Shaved, showered and got dressed for a night on the plane. Fellette meanwhile was taking care of the domestic side of things in the house. Changing the beds, laundry, making the kitchen look new again, dishwasher etc.. Finally we were done.
We sat down and watched TV for two hours with the odd trip up by me to verify some trivial things were done.
The driver of the Limo Service that Edward, our travel agent had ordered drove in five minutes early
Off we drove in supreme comfort and made it to the airport in record time. Light traffic at the airport made check-in and security a non-issue. Right after security was the lounge. Within five minutes we were sitting in the lounge with a cup of tea, all wired up.
When I next post the Blog it will Monday night in Auckland. I cannot figure out what time of the day that will be in west coast North America. It will be Sunday though.
