Saturday, March 11. Windy, choppy seas. 25 C. Day 67 of 128. Still 10 hours ahead of PST.
It is 8:30 in the morning and we are still not 100% sure if we will be getting into East London today because of bad weather conditions: for the ship. We are eagerly awaiting 'Word From The Bridge' as they say.
If we get in today, we are looking forward to being on a game drive again, on which we have a tour scheduled. It has been many years since we were bumping around on a Safari Vehicle. Our tour is just a taste of the experience, but considering where we are it is the best we can do and happy for that. The real experience is what those passengers who took the expensive Overland Tours are getting. They get the complete thrill of living in a Safari Lodge, early morning and afternoon game drives, lodge dinners, strange sounds at night etc.
10:30 am. Well, the Captain cancelled our visit to East London today. We were sure we were going in, in spite of the strong winds, as the pilot was taken on and two tugs were ready for us. Then came the announcement that it was cancelled: too risky. So, a Restful Sea Day for us today.
Tomorrow it is Port Elizabeth, where we have an early all day shore excursion and weather looks fine!
A Relaxing Sea Day...
