Tuesday, April 4. Docked at Agadir, Morocco. 23 C. Very pleasant day. 39 days until home.
After a four hour delay sailing from Arrecife and a rocky crossing back to North Africa, we were docked only two hours late. We four walked off around 9:45, took the shuttle to a beach, then took a cab to Souk El Had, which was our original plan. It is a Huge Souk, which is like a Mall. It is reportedly home to 6,000 individual little shops selling everything anybody living here could possibly need, and more.
I was amazed at how neat and clean it was, solid painted concrete floors, the merchants were eager to sell but not really a nuisance. We got along fine with sign language, pencil and paper and high school French when negotiating, which we did indeed.
After spending more than we had figured we had lunch in there, yup, ate off the ship. [So far so good!]
We then took a cab back to the drop off spot for the shuttle. Jim and Gail stayed for a bit at the beach and got the next bus back to the ship as the wind made the beach somewhat unpleasant.
Fellette spent the afternoon on the balcony as she is into a riveting good book. I also took it easy, my foot had a bit of a work out, but a pain pill makes a big difference.
We talked to each of our kids today, that is a boost to our spirits.
A Good Day, Nice To Be In Morocco Again…
The Silos across from us today. That is the Moroccan flag, not the Russian.
In we go to experience another Moroccan way of life. Much cleaner than you would think, much.
Tempting us with those stacks of strawberries.
Leather, Leather, Leather.
Fresh squeezed orange juice. They actually wash the oranges first, nice to see.
More dates
Garlic and other stuff! Look at the attractive display.
This is a traditional Water Seller. He wanders around and some people may buy a glass, that he offers, of water. This photo cost two dollars, because Jim was in it!
Exit the Souk! Find Fellette and the Cutlers.
I can almost taste the strawberries!
